Moore Building

The Moore building is a seven-story high rise offering affordable living for seniors age 62 and older (younger if certain mobility disability criteria are met).

 

The Moore Building is home to 200 HUD-subsidized apartments. Fully accessible apartments are also available for persons with disabilities.

The Moore Building has all the amenities our residents need under one roof – a beauty salon, gift shop, library, computers, billiards room, and a gym complete with a trainer.  Coin-operated laundry facilities are conveniently located on each floor and a delicious and nutritious noon meal is available six days a week. Cable TV and transportation are also available and residents can choose to receive physical therapy on-site without having to leave the building.

Good Shepherd has reserved an area with raised beds for those residents who have a green thumb or want to try their hand at gardening.

Applicants must be 62 or older (or younger if disabled by definition).

30% GROSS INCOME REQUIREMENTS:

Rent is 30% of the residents’ gross income when their income falls at or below the maximum allowable income amount as determined by HUD.

A security deposit equal to one month’s rent is required and utilities are included.

One person gross yearly income maximum $25,050
Two persons gross yearly income maximum $28,600

Apartments: 

  • Studio (400 sq. ft.)
  • 1 Bedroom (400 sq. ft.)
  • 2 Bedroom (700 sq. ft.)

Rent is determined at 30% of gross income. 
Security Deposit equal to one month’s rent 
Pet Deposit: $200 
Noon meal program is available Sunday through Friday for $230/month per person. 
Rent includes utilities. 
Cable TV is $23 per month. 
Transportation services are available. 
Handicapped-accessible apartments are available. 
Library, chapel, beauty shop and gift shop are located on-site.
On-site physical therapy is available.
