Good Shepherd Ecumenical Retirement
Center holds the annual Bishops Luncheon event designed to commemorate the
founders of Good Shepherd, honor the
current leaders of the founding denominations and raise funds for capital projects.  The founding denominations are the Episcopal Diocese of Arkansas, the United Methodist Church of Arkansas, the Presbyterian Church
of Arkansas and the Catholic Diocese of Arkansas.  Each year over 450 people attend this event chaired by leaders in our community speaking on various subjects including "Meeting the Needs for Future Elderly Housing."

One of the recent capital purchases was 85-acres of land immediately adjacent to the east and northeast of Good Shepherd which is to be developed for additional elderly housing.  For years "The Dream" of the Board of Directors has been to develop additional land for the elderly.  With over 200 people on waiting lists for its 4 facilities, the Board has been seeking ways to meet the demand.

After several years of exploration and discussion, step 1 of "The Dream" was completed with the land purchase. The acquisition brings the total campus size to 160 acres and the Board is in a full court press to pay off the debt on the land so development can begin.

This annual event is held in January of each year. For more information, you may contact us at info@goodshepherdcommunity.com
